Terms of Service

Overview

These Terms of Service govern the use of the Louise Rose Period Glass website and the purchase of goods from Louise Rose Period Glass Ltd. By using this website or placing an order, you agree to these terms.

Nothing in these terms affects any statutory rights that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited.

Our Products

We specialise in antique, vintage and period stained glass, leaded glass and related architectural pieces. Most items are unique and are sold individually.

Because these are historic objects, they may show age-related wear, patina, historic repairs, irregularities, movement, surface marks, minor losses, variations in glass and leadwork, and other evidence of previous architectural use.

We describe and photograph each item as accurately as reasonably possible. Photographs form part of the product description. Variations and characteristics that are clearly described or shown are part of the condition of the item and are not, by themselves, faults.

Where dimensions are given, they are approximate unless expressly stated otherwise. Buyers should satisfy themselves that a piece is suitable for its intended setting before purchase, particularly where installation into an architectural opening is planned.

Ordering

By placing an order, you are making an offer to purchase the goods shown in your order. A contract is formed when we accept your order and send confirmation that it has been accepted or dispatched.

We reserve the right to decline or cancel an order before acceptance where there is an obvious pricing or description error, the item is no longer available, payment cannot be authorised, or we reasonably suspect fraudulent or unlawful activity.

As many of our pieces are one-off antiques, once an item has been sold it may not be possible to replace it.

Prices & Payment

Prices are shown in the currency selected or displayed on the website. Any applicable delivery charge is shown at checkout or agreed separately where a bespoke delivery quotation is required.

Payment must be received or authorised before goods are dispatched unless an alternative arrangement has been agreed in writing.

International customers may be responsible for import VAT, customs duties, brokerage fees and other local charges unless those charges are expressly shown as included at checkout.

Delivery

Delivery arrangements are governed by our Shipping & Delivery Policy, which forms part of these terms.

Delivery estimates are provided in good faith but may be affected by carrier delays, customs clearance, destination restrictions or the specialist packing requirements of fragile glass.

For larger, heavier, unusually fragile or high-value items, we may require a bespoke delivery quotation or specialist transport arrangement.

Returns, Cancellations & Refunds

Consumer cancellation and return rights are governed by our Returns & Refunds Policy and applicable UK consumer law.

Nothing in these terms limits your rights where goods are faulty, not as described, or otherwise fail to meet applicable legal standards.

Antique Condition & Suitability

Antique and period architectural glass is not newly manufactured material. Its age, construction, leadwork and previous installation may make it unsuitable for certain structural, safety, thermal, acoustic or regulatory applications without professional assessment.

We do not provide architectural, structural, glazing, conservation or building-control advice unless expressly agreed in writing.

Before installation, buyers should obtain appropriate professional advice where necessary and ensure compliance with any applicable building regulations, conservation requirements, safety standards or planning restrictions.

Website Information

We take reasonable care to keep website information accurate and up to date, but we do not guarantee that all content will be free from typographical errors or temporary inaccuracies.

Images may display differently depending on screen settings, lighting and photography. We aim to represent colour and texture faithfully, but exact colour matching cannot be guaranteed.

Intellectual Property

Unless otherwise stated, the text, branding, layout and original photography on this website belong to Louise Rose Period Glass Ltd or are used with permission.

You may not reproduce, publish, commercially exploit or distribute our website content without prior written permission, except where permitted by law.

Acceptable Use

You must not misuse this website, attempt unauthorised access, introduce malicious software, interfere with its operation, or use it for unlawful or fraudulent purposes.

Liability

Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability where it would be unlawful to do so, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or any liability that cannot be excluded under applicable consumer law.

Subject to the above, we are not responsible for losses that were not reasonably foreseeable when the contract was formed, or for business losses suffered by a consumer.

If you are purchasing wholly or mainly for business purposes, different legal rights may apply and you should contact us before purchase if you require specific contractual terms.

Events Outside Our Control

We are not responsible for delay or failure to perform an obligation where this results from circumstances outside our reasonable control. Where such an event materially affects an order, we will contact you and take reasonable steps to minimise the effect.

Changes to These Terms

We may update these terms from time to time to reflect changes in law, our business or our website. The terms applying to an order are those in force when the order is placed.

Governing Law

These terms and any contract between you and Louise Rose Period Glass Ltd are governed by the laws of England and Wales, subject to any mandatory consumer protections that apply in the country where you live.

If you are a consumer resident elsewhere, you may also have the right to bring proceedings in the courts of your home jurisdiction where applicable law provides that right.
