A particularly decorative antique leaded stained glass panel centred with a vivid ruby-red heart motif, flanked by green leaves and a small amber detail. Soft aqua, pale green and textured clear glass surround the central design, creating a beautifully balanced composition with strong Arts & Crafts and Art Nouveau influence.

The restrained geometry and jewel-like heart motif make this an especially attractive architectural piece for both period and contemporary interiors.

Description

An original antique stained glass panel with a wonderfully simple yet distinctive central heart design.

The composition is formed around a rich ruby-red heart, framed by two deep green leaf-shaped sections and a small amber accent above. Two slender amber glass lines extend vertically beneath the heart, introducing a strong architectural element to the otherwise organic motif.

Textured clear glass allows light to diffuse beautifully through the panel, while pale green and blue-green border glass gives the piece a softer, more sophisticated palette.

Its combination of geometry, stylised botanical detailing and richly coloured glass is characteristic of decorative glazing from the Arts & Crafts and Art Nouveau period.

At approximately 54.5cm wide, it is substantial enough to work as a genuine architectural feature without dominating a room. It could be incorporated into an internal window, cabinet or fitted joinery, positioned above a doorway, or displayed independently where natural light can pass through it.

The original aged leadwork and surface character are integral to the appeal of the piece and reflect its history as an authentic architectural fragment rather than a modern reproduction.

Selected from a wider private holding of antique stained glass.
